Q: What is The Armory Field House, LLC?

A: The Armory Field House, LLC is a multi-sport recreational facility located in the historic former U.S. Rieger Armory at 500 S. Elson St., Kirksville, MO.  We offer a modern training and recreational environment for a wide variety of sports, fitness activities, and social events.  Primary sports training set-up & equipment includes baseball, softball, soccer, football, wrestling, & more.

Q: What is the mission of The Armory Field House, LLC?

A: Provide Kirksville and the surrounding region with an area leading sports and recreational facility that fosters athletic development, community engagement, and healthy lifestyles. Honor the legacy of the Rieger Armory, Lt. Col. James Rieger (REE-gur) and all local veterans by preserving the historic building as a community asset, promoting health, optimism, positivity, sportsmanship, patriotism, and respect for local military history.

Q: Who is our target market?

  • Families with youth athletes (ages 4-14):

    • Northeast Missouri has a strong youth sports culture, with numerous competitive clubs, recreational leagues, & school affiliated programs. The Armory Field House, LLC provides a more specialized, but still cost-effective training venue for competitive athletes not presently available in the market area. 

  • Families with High School & college athletes (ages 15-25):

    • Kirksville & all surrounding area High Schools, Universities, & Colleges offer a variety of sports programs. The facility will seek to accommodate training opportunities to as many of these programs & athletes as feasible.

  • Any coach, trainer, and/or advanced athlete looking for premium training spaces to conduct practices, lessons, camps, and/or clinics. 

    • Athletes looking for personalized coaching and skill development.

    • Coaches or instructors seeking a quality venue to provide private or group lessons.

  • Families or Seniors interested in indoor walking, general fitness, & other general health & wellness activities.

 

Q: What types of spaces are offered?

A: Our facility supports competitive training opportunities for nearly every major sport, with the exception of basketball (no court).  

  • The “Drill Floor” features 

    • [4] 70’ x 15’ m/l, with 25'+ ceilings, turfed training bays for Baseball, Softball, & more.

    • [1] 70’ x 45’ multi-purpose turfed training bay suitable for Soccer, Football, Baseball, Softball, Wrestling (when mats are deployed) & more.

    • [4] Retractable divider nets allow for the turfed training area to be set-up in numerous configurations.  Create spaces to play nearly any recreational sport or activity you can imagine, such as: dodgeball, tee-ball, wiffleball, volleyball, spike-ball, nerf-gun wars, cornhole, and more.

    • A full 5’+ wide walking trail, approximately 15.5 laps per mile.

  • The “Lounge”:  A climate controlled furnished space for adult members to avoid the noise of the Drill Floor while your athlete trains or to take a break.

  • The “Chow Hall” kitchen & “The Rally Point” family lounge.  Kitchen & lounge spaces to gather, enjoy food & drink, host a party or special event.  Food & drink are not permitted in the Drill Floor training area (water excluded).

  • The "War Room".  Located off the main level foyer, this space provides a private classroom like environment for teams & groups to gather for film study, play review, tactical discussions, & more. 
  • The “Combat Room”: A padded training room suitable for small group/private lesson wrestling practices, yoga classes, stretching, functional fitness training, & more.  Additional training rooms off the space feature additional training equipment.  Located on the 2nd level.  

  • The “Cardio Room”:  A training space featuring various cardio machines, such as stair-climber, treadmill, exercise bike, & elliptical.  Located on the 2nd level. 

  • The “Sauna Room”:  A space featuring [2] 6+ person barrel saunas; one being female only & the other being co-ed.  Located on the 2nd level.

  • The “Fitness Center”:  A space to workout, featuring weights, benches, & multi-functional fitness/weight training equipment.  Located on the 2nd level.

  • Locker Rooms & Changing Rooms: Spaces to securely store your items while training are on both the Drill Floor & the 2nd level.

 

Q: Do I need to be a member to use the facility?

A: Yes (Generally).  We are a private club with a membership model.  For the best value and maximum access, a membership is required.  On a limited basis, non-members can request/purchase day or spectator passes and/or reserve spaces for special events as paid guests, subject to approval & availability.  Fees apply, please contact us for further details.

Q: What is the cost of membership & what types of memberships are available?

A: Most memberships will start at a cost between fifty & eighty dollars (+/-) per-month depending on the type of membership, # of members in the family, & discounts you may qualify for.  Please reference the Fee & Rent Schedule Summary for greater details.

A: We offer the following membership types:

  • Family Memberships - Monthly or Annual options.  For multiple members in the same nuclear family or household.

  • Student Membership - Monthly or Annual options.  For individual members ages 15 - 24.
  • Senior [55+] Memberships - Monthly or Annual options. Individual or couple options.

  • Day Passes [By Request Only] - Subject to management approval.

  • Membership Discounts available for the following qualified groups:

    • 5% discount for entire team or club memberships - Annual only

    • 5% for corporate or organizational group plans - Annual only

    • 5% discount for out-of-county residents - Monthly or Annually

    • 10% discount for all active military, veterans, & first responders - Monthly or Annually

 

Q: How do I sign up for & manage a membership?

A: Membership registration will be available exclusively through the The Armory Field House, LLC website.  Members will complete their membership profile & payment information within the app.  Your phone & GymDesk app serve as your access to unlock the main entrance to the facility.  Please use the Contact function on the website & in the app for any questions, comments, or concerns.

 

Q: What are your hours of operation?

A: All access to the facility will take place through the main entrance on the East side of the building.  All other entrance points are emergency exits only.  The main entrance lock will be on a timer, opening at 5:00 a.m. & closing at 10:00 p.m., 7-days a week.  The facility may be periodically closed for lengths of time to accommodate special events, routine cleaning and/or maintenance, etc.  Access before or after normal operating hours subject to management approval. 

Q: Can The Armory Field House, LLC accommodate private training sessions, camps, clinics, leagues, or tournaments?

A: Yes! Our spaces are ideal to host any of these across various sports & social activities.  Reservation fees apply, please contact us for further details.

Q: Can I reserve space for a private event or party?

A: Yes! We offer flexible event space for birthday parties, team banquets, corporate functions, and community events.  Reservation fees apply, please contact us for further details.

 

Q: Can members, teams, or organizations reserve training space(s)?

A: Yes! Without reservation, spaces are offered on a first come, first serve basis with the expectation all members respectfully work together to rotate & share spaces.  Reservations can be requested & paid for through the GymDesk app.  All booked reservations are viewable on the online schedule. All reservations are subject to approval & additional fees.

Q: Can I advertise my business at the facility?

A: Yes!  Our advertising partner program provides opportunities for businesses to purchase advertising signage of various shapes, sizes, & locations throughout the facility.  Advertising partners will also receive recognition on our app., website, & social media platforms.  See Advertising Partner Program for additional details.

 

Q: Will the historic nature of the Armory building be preserved?

A: Yes. We are committed to honoring the structure’s military & community history, preserving key architectural elements, and celebrating the legacy of Lt. Col. James Rieger, along with all local veterans.

The facility was designated as an historic landmark by the Kirksville City Council on 06/02/2025.

 

Q: How can I receive updates?

A: Communications with membership will come through the app.  Also, we encourage you to follow us on social media for news and announcements.  While we don’t know what the future holds, we have many ideas to add more services & continue to improve the facility for years to come.

 

Q: What are the rules for members & guests?

A: Below are the general facility rules & code of conduct for all members & guests. 

  • MUST BE A PAID MEMBER, GUEST, OR SPECTATOR WITH ALL REQUIRED WAIVER & RULES FORMS SIGNED TO ENTER THE PREMISES.  ALL OTHERS ARE CONSIDERED TRESPASSING.   

  • GYM (INDOOR) SHOES ONLY ON THE TURF & ALL OTHER TRAINING AREAS. NO STREET SHOES. NO CLEATS OF ANY KIND. 

  • CLEAN WRESTLING SHOES ONLY ON WRESTLING MATS.  NO STREET SHOES.

  • ALL OUTSIDE TRAINING EQUIPMENT, BASEBALLS, SOFTBALLS, SOCCER BALLS, FOOTBALLS, ETC. MUST BE IN CLEAN CONDITION TO ENTER DRILL FLOOR.

  • The facility is smoke-free, tobacco-free, alcohol-free, drug-free, and weapons-free.

  • No outside food or drink allowed, with the exception of sports bottles or thermos of paid members & guests.  Food and drink are to be consumed only in the designated commons areas, such as the lounges & Chow Hall (exception is water in bottles). No food on turf.

  • Gum, candy, & sunflower seeds are prohibited in all areas of the facility.

  • Direct supervision of guests is not provided.  All activity is conducted at your own risk.

  • Facility members must be at least 15 years of age or accompanied by a paid adult member/guest.

  • Proper attire is required at all times. Inappropriate or offensive clothing is prohibited.

  • Batting helmets must be worn at all times while in hitting cages. 

  • Act in a safe, responsible manner at all times.

  • Vulgar or abusive language, aggressive behavior, (sexual) harassment and physical abuse are not tolerated and may result in immediate expulsion and/or reporting to law enforcement.

  • No pets without prior written permission.

  • When others are waiting or when not specifically reserved, all members & guests should generally limit use of training areas & equipment (such as batting cages) to 20 minutes & rotate/share usage.

  • Leave all equipment in the condition it was found (general wear & tear excluded) & return to its proper location when training is completed.

  • Users unfamiliar with the operation of the equipment should seek assistance from the facility leadership prior to activity.

  • Report any injury or damaged equipment to the facility immediately.  Emergencies, call 911.

  • Improper use of equipment causing damage or vandalism to any of the equipment will result in financial restitution for repair or replacement.

  • Respectful behavior toward other guests, others belongings, the facility & its equipment is expected at all times.

  • Not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property.  Please secure personal belongings.  All guests must abide by all state and local laws, policies, ordinances, and regulations.

  • Those found in violation of the General Rules & Code of Conduct may be subject to cancellation of membership & banishment from privilege to utilize the facility.
